HBO Begins Ice & Fire!

Jaime Lannister (brought to you here by the amazingly talented Michael Komarck) has every reason to smirk and ride proud beyond his family’s inclination to do both!
It was announced on Tuesday that HBO will be putting into production a lone pilot from A Game of Thrones, Book One in the George R. R. Martin series A Song of Ice & Fire!

It only took two years for HBO to finally greenlight this project to pilot status. The preeminent cable network is pretty unanimously agreed upon by the fans to be the lone entity to bring George’s vision to realization. After watching Deadwood, The Sopranos and well-handled True Blood (another genre adaptation), I too think HBO is fully capable of bringing this fantastic epic to life and give it the attention to detail it deserves. Move over Legend of the Seeker! There might be a new series to contend with soon!
It has been six or seven years since I read A Game of Thrones. And as I was reminded yesterday on my birthday, I’m not getting any younger and the memory is spiraling like a snowflake—slowly but ever downward. But the first few chapters of Thrones has stayed with me in that time and I doubt I will ever forget the direwolf pups and how Eddard Stark comes upon them in the heaviest snows of winter and gives them to his children. To see that brought to a reality gives me shivers before even seeing it!
